A WALL QUILT WORK OF ART!
Bravery pays off with these charming and unique pieced stars.
Pattern provides accurate templates for three different versions of "chubby" five-pointed, pieced stars. Each pentagon center is pieced from 5 identical triangles cut from the border print. Bias and y-seaming will challenge your skills, but you have the design advantage! Here's why:
1. Points float.
2. Background templates have an extra 1/4" all around. This means you can have rough edges and still square down to 9 1/2" unfinished, keeping all points sharp.
Here the pentagon is formed from stripes cut into diamonds. Many stripes have 5 repeats selvage to selvage.
If you are familiar with stacking repeats, or even fussy-cutting, you can play with a small amount of fabric and get some highly unusual, fun, and very interesting side-effects.
A great fabric exploration project for the intermediate quilter.
